Roy Moore's Broken Oath
Amending our Constitution is very difficult (as it should be), but 17 Amendments have been ratified since the Bill of Rights was ratified in 1791. Some of them are rather integral to our democracy, and valued across the political spectrum, but apparently Roy Moore thinks getting rid of all 17 would "eliminate many problems". Moore's Troubling Interview with Blight Wing Conspiracy Theorist A few years back, Roy Moore went on a controversial radio program and said some rather disturbing things. This radio host believes not only in a range of conspiracy theories that place him, along with Moore, squarely in what I call the 'blight wing' (the very worst elements of the extreme right), but he even thinks a Constitutional Amendment should be passed that would erase all of the Amendments past the first ten / Bill of Rights. Sorry ladies - no vote for you, and what could possibly be wrong about getting rid of the ban on slavery...? Roy Moore, who had...

I'm not sure I've read a better story in a long time... Turns out locals in Brandon, Mississippi appear to have conspired to keep the blight wing Westboro (insert derogatory cuss words here) types from protesting outside of the funeral of USMC Staff Sgt. Jason Rogers... and succeeded. There was a scuffle in a bar, which allowed the police to detain some of them, and the cars that these folks were going to drive to the funeral all had cars parked behind them for the duration of the funeral, and the tow trucks (aww shucks) just couldn't make it until after the funeral was over to move them. Explaining what happened, someone on a message board had this to say: A couple of days before, one of them ran his mouth at a Brandon gas station and got his ass waxed. Police were called and the beaten man could not give much of a description of who beat him. When they canvassed the station and spoke to the large crowd that had gathered around, no one se...

I'm one of those people that really gets caught up in stories I read, shows and movies I watch and even events I read about in the news much of the time. Almost as much as the story about the fourteen year old girl who was raped, then lashed to death for committing adultery, this train wreck of a story about the Koran burning pastor and the murderous mobs in Afghanistan that have murdered in response. Just like I said about Jared Loughner, the shooter of Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, this pastor who put the Koran on mock trial, burned it and put it on the web for all to see is clearly a sociopath.  He's not exactly responsible for the deaths of the United Nations workers who the murderous mobs beheaded in response - that is placed squarely in the hands of those who pulled the trigger and swung the swords, but he knew exactly what it was likely to result in. We should be thankful that the extremists in our country almost never come ...
