Olbermann's Suspension Just as Stupid as Juan Williams' Firing

Seriously… does ANYONE actually think that MSNBC isn’t a nakedly partisan infotainment organization? So what is the big deal about Kieth Olbermann donating to a few democrats during the last election? Who the heck cares?

He’s not a journalist, he’s a liberal opinion commentator, talking head type. It would be one thing if he was the anchor of a news program that pretended to have journalistic integrity, but his show is nakedly partisan. This is just as stupid as Juan Williams being fired from NPR, or if some radio station tried to withhold pay from el Rushbo for donating money to whoever the heck he does that to.

What a joke…

  1. Actually, MSNBC's naked partisanship appears to be caused more by the hosts and less by management, since they have examples of both kinds of it. It seems it's fine for their hosts to TALK like Fox News commentators, but apparently it's verboten to follow through on it in real life. In the end, though, Olbermann made a mistake that was very easy not to make, and his career may suffer immensely for it.

    1. I think its pretty hypocritical for MSNBC to have rules that amount to basics of journalistic integrity, when the organization in practice is nakedly partisan. I have no love for Olbermann, but its stupid for them to take issue with this, or even have the rule in the first place. You can't be partisan AND be a true journalists. It doesn't work that way.
