A Moderate’s Mini Manifesto / Vent

In a guest post on over at Little Green Footballs, someone who goes by ‘LudwigVanQuixote” has penned a pretty darn good vent on many of the frustrations that moderates come up against in the world of politics.

This isn’t unexpected if you’re at all familiar with what usually goes on at Little Green Footballs, but its particularly scathing when talking about extremists. Whether its ‘moonbats’ on the left, or wingnuts on the right, he’s does a pretty good job of listing some of their more absurd talking points.

For wingnuts, the wedge issues are religion, race, homosexuality, conspiracy theories and pandering to fear. For moonbats, the wedges are religion, race, conspiracy theories and pandering to fear.

They simply have different targets.

I also really dig his observation on their nearly identical tactics, when they meet opposition

When their dogmas are challenged, they get a whiny persecution complex going. They make false equivalences and whine that you did it first… They make strawmen and shift goal posts. They do pretty much anything except adress those factual statements which challenge their narratives.

Lots to chew on there.

Take a look at the rest on over at Little Green Footballs…
